Progression Analysis and Signal System Evaluation Routine (PASSER) is a registered trademark of the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI.) The PASSER series consists of three software packages designed for analyzing and optimizing signal timings. Developed 30 years ago, the first version of PASSER was intended for real-time applications. It was succesfully installed to provide real-time control at a 4-intersection section of Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas. PASSER was also the first program in its class for optimizing the phase sequence of multi-phase traffic signals. In the late seventies, additional routines were added to provide offline analysis. |
